British National Formulary for Children (BNFC) integration into BMJ Best Practice gives users enhanced access to the latest drug information

BMJ have teamed up with the Royal College of Pharmacists to integrate the British National Formulary for Children (BNFC) into BMJ’s online decision support tool, BMJ Best Practice, giving healthcare professionals fast and easy access to the latest drug information when making treatment decisions for children.

The partnership means that NHS organisations in the UK will now have free access to both the British National Formulary (BNF) and BNFC through the BMJ Best Practice product.

Users will have full access to both formularies and will be able to search the full database for drugs, doses and contraindications.

The BNF and BNFC are independent professional publications that meet the day-to-day prescribing information needs of healthcare professionals. These drug formularies are used throughout the UK and in many worldwide institutions to ensure that medicines are prescribed safely, effectively, and appropriately.

The BNF is unique in bringing together authoritative, independent guidance on best practice with clinically validated drug information. The BNFC is specifically designed for children to aid prescribing decisions around childhood disorders.
